The Colorado College Club Baseball team had a great 2008 season, and is currently preparing for 2009 play. Our team has brought competitive baseball back to the school for the first time in decades; however we need your help to realize our dream.
Colorado College's club sport policy prevents the school from providing funding for the team until it has been completely self-supporting for two years. Throughout 2008 and 2009, team members must be fully responsible for team finances and general management. Fielding a baseball team is expensive and is especially costly in its start-up phase. We were successful in our efforts last year and truly appreciate the help we received. However this is now year two of the trial period, and we need additional help to achieve our goals for the 2009 season. Expenses to be incurred include necessary protective equipment, transportation and board for away games, leasing our home field, and hiring umpires. We will also need to purchase additional jerseys and hats for new members. At this point we are without the funds necessary to field a team in the coming season.
Please join our effort to re-establish baseball as a competitive sport at Colorado College. We want to create this opportunity for ourselves and for future students who love the game as we do. With your help, our dream of fielding a sustainable team for 2009 and beyond will become a reality.
